The Luck of the Irish is back!
By Davin Edwards
Thanks to the exceptionally talented Heisman Trophy contender, Quarterback Brady Quinn is on fire, throwing over 300 yards a game. Breaking almost every record just this season in Notre Dame, Quinn has become the most improved, and most valuable player. 6’4, an arm like a bullet, and a face like a Greek God, Quinn throws with excellence and precision under any amount of pressure, and is the center of this magnificent, winning team.
Taken under the instruction of former New England Patriots Offensive Coach, Charlie Weis, who is now the head coach at Notre Dame, Weis is the perfect person to mold this team of young, talented athletes. Signing a 10-year contact, Weis will be around not only next year, but for many years to come, already accomplishing so much in such a short amount of time.
Striving to get into a BCS Bowl this year, the Fighting Irish are no longer considered the underdogs, and have reclaimed their elite status, and have gained recognition among their peers. Ranked #7 with a 7-2 standing, and only losing two games so far this season, one in overtime, the other, to the number one team in the nation, USC, which was a nail biting experience, Notre Dame has proven that there was always talent on the team, all they needed was a great coach…Weis is that man.
Brady Quinn has not only broken school records, but is on his way to becoming the next Tom Brady and Peyton Manning. Next year as a senior, he will be an unstoppable force, a top contender for the 2006 Heisman Trophy, and a top draft pick. With the help of many talented players on the Notre Dame football team, like Jeff Samardzija, wide receiver, who is an exceptional talent, Anthony Fasano, a great tight end, and Tom Zbikowski, defensive back, who has already made to winning touchdowns this season all on his own, the Luck of the Irish will be here to stay for a very long time.
