Tick tock.
You're an NBA team.
You're in Phoenix to play Suns, the highest scoring and most explosive team in the league.
They have 2-time MVP Steve Nash, the Matrix Shawn Marion, and reigning Sixth Man of the Year Leandro Barbosa just to name a few.
That's ok you think, we aren't chumps, we have good players too.
Little did you know the timer started ticking the second you got off the plane.
Tick tock.
The first quarter starts and you're feeling good, you like this run and gun flow the Suns force everyone to play.
Phoenix is shooting cold and you're up 5 when the quarter ends, what's everyone complaining about you say, we can score as many points as the Suns.
Tick tock.
Now it's the second quarter and the Suns are shooting a little better but you're able to match them shot for shot as your team leader is on fire scoring 8 points to go along with the 10 he had in the first quarter.
Finally, the first half ends and let's face it, you need the break.
You're exhausted from trying to keep up with a Suns team that never seems to get tired.
These guys must do their offseason training in Kenya you think as you reach for the oxygen mask.
But hey it's not all bad.
You're still up one and you've kept the Suns from making any huge runs. Steve Nash has 12 points but only 3 assists which is great considering he averages 10.5.
Tick tock.
Unfortunately, like a gazelle taking a drink from a crocodile infested lake you are oblivious to the destruction that awaits you in the second half.
Tick tock.
The third period opens and you swear you can hear something ticking around you.
Tick tock.
First Stoudemire hits two buckets, then it's Nash, and then back comes Stoudemire as that ticking you here gets even louder.
Tick tock.
Suddenly you realize what that ticking sound is.
But it's too late.
Boom.
The ticking time bomb that is the Phoenix Suns has finally detonated and you are right in the center of the blast.
You spend the rest of the game in a state of shock as it goes by in a flash of dunks, three pointers, steals, and blocks all by the Suns.
When the dust finally clears the scoreboard reads 113-94 and all you can do as you head to your locker room to change and get ready for the next game is wonder what happened.
And as you leave the arena you can only shake your head and feel sorry for the next team on the Suns' schedule because you know what awaits them.
You know the timer has already started, they just don't know it yet.
Tick tock.
