I'm disappointed in the way the Yankees handled the situation. I feel their offer was made with the intent of Torre not to accept. Why would a guy with his resume accept a $2 million base pay cut? I think Don Mattingly will get it. The key now is retaining free agents and adding a few more

College football craziness continues. Notre Dame has one win. Do you think coach Charlie Weis will be out after this season?

Notre Dame beat UCLA, but the record is well below Irish standards. I don't believe the school will pay off his deal, so I feel he will be back. Beat them now because Notre Dame won't be down that long.

New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady has thrown 27 touchdown passes in seven games. He will more than likely shatter Indianapolis Colts' quarterback Peyton Manning's record. Will Brady, barring he stays healthy, be the touchdown pass leader surpassing Green Bay Packers' Brett Favre ?

Brady and Manning will battle to re-write records. Brady has a special corps of pass-catching threats with him now. Favre may hang around a while longer, raising the bar even further. If I had to guess, Manning has a better shot at breaking career records than Brady.
