Mind Control : You never know what is going through an owners' mind when he selects a head coach. You had to wonder why Jim Fassel was even in the mix to start given the talent that was out there. Dan Synder is into control in a big way.
Dan Synder has proven in the past to act in this sort of manner. Joe Gibbs kept him in check with his resume and age. Now--it looks like the Washington Redskins might be the Oakland Raiders East Coast.

Roger Clemens continues to deny that he used steroids even in the face of physical evidence provided by his accuser. Obviously one of them is lying. Many media members are suggesting that one of the parties is lying and the real truth is going to come out. There is a difference between lying and thinking that you are telling the truth.
That is--all the parties involved in this affair are convinced they are telling the truth. People delude themselves all the time. The emotional mind is so strong that I firmly believe that Roger Clemens at this point has not doubt he did not use steroids, regardless of whether he did or did not.

It appears that Don Imus has returned to radio pretty much in the same manner he left it. From what I understand and the bit I have heard not that much has changed. He still has "A" list guests and the show still has a similar edge to it. Don Imus is not the first personality to be banished and make a comeback. In fact it is common fare that many celebrities come back bigger and even better than ever after they fall.
I think fortunately or unfortunately (depending upon how you look at it) those who transgress can feel comfort in knowing that there is a good chance for rebirth if not redemption. I think more importantly the public has and will continue to become numb to people who transgress. Psychologically, in the long and perhaps short run it will have a collective effect on our psyches. It will in short make people less fearful, reticent and thoughtful before they act as they too realize that their downside risk is so small.
Additionally, we all can take comfort that with our ever decreasing attention spans that our actions will be forgotten in a nano second and we will be back page news, or no news before you can blink and eye. In short, what is the downside risk of acting out? It seems there is very little downside risk and in the case of Imus etal, there appears to be a large upside.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Russell Goldman called me from ABC news to ask about this women jinx stuff that is going around. Nice fella. Told him had nothing to do with it. The Giants simply beat the Patriots.
People blame others all the time for disappointments--who doesn't? How often do people blame their spouses or girlfriends for their moods, actions and performances? Why would they not do this with people like Tony Romo or Tom Brady . It is a lot easier to blame a girlfriend if you are a fan than your favorite player or team. It is sort of psychologically clean and neat. Hey Gesselle was there--she did it.
Geez--I guess all those Giants swarming around Brady had nothing to do with it. Could have fooled me.

Clairvoyant Psychologist Picks Winner: This was Blog Dated and Stamped
For some reason which I will explain at some future date, I have become an expert on superstitions. If you type in superstitions and sports my name comes up. For fun I was looking for a sign--some sign about who was going to be the Super Bowl winner although I am more concerned about who is going to be the Republican or Democratic nominee.
I was most recently focusing on the fact that my father was a huge Giant Fan and passed away three years ago this month (more the latter than the former). I know my father's birthday is February 3rd but at times like many of us I lose track of the date--I never forget the day of the week for those of you who might be concerned. Looked at this morning's paper--the 3rd!! My final prediction--Big Blue Wins!!!! Take it to the bank.
