Kris Fenrich is employed as a copywriter at an internet company in downtown Seattle. While copywriting isn’t his first choice regarding content, he is shocked and amazed someone will actually pay him to write. Says Fenrich, “When I found out I had the job, I was like: ‘No way man. They really want to give me money to write?’” The answer was “yes” and Fenrich has been pounding out the copy ever since.
Kris graduated from the University of Iowa and is a diehard Hawkeye football fan. He fell in love with writing and literature during his six (yes, six) years at the University. Asked to pick his favorite format of writing and Fenrich said this: “I prefer writing fiction, because that allows me the most freedom. But, at the same time, I love sports and I love writing about sports because it gives me a chance to criticize the absurd hypocrisy that surrounds professional sports these days. Basically, I’m happy if I’m writing.”
Kris is one of the rare basketball fans who enjoys professional basketball more than college hoops. His favorite NBA teams are the Lakers, Sonics and Bulls and his favorite player is Kobe Bryant and he doesn’t care that most people despise the Lakers star guard. Growing up in the Midwest, Kris has always felt an affinity towards the lovable losers of Chicago’s north side: The Cubs. Like all Cubs fans, Kris has faith that “next year” will be the Cubs year.
