Valerie Wood is a writer and graphic design artist who has been an avid sports fan for as long as she can remember. For four years, she was a photojournalist for Hockey Ink!, as correspondent for the East Coast Hockey League (Richmond Renegades) and American Hockey League teams ( Hershey and Baltimore ). Her first novel, ENFORCER, about the life of a pro hockey fighterr, emerged from her passion for ice hockey, and her experiences as a sportswriter, observer, and interviewer. She has photographed and written about a variety of sporting events, including auto and powerboat racing. Valerie was an on-field photographer for the 1995 Grey Cup Champion CFL Baltimore Stallions. Besides avid sports interests such as football, racing, baseball and skating, she is involved in web design, art and painting, genealogy, animal rights and the culinary arts. Valerie Wood has been profiled in Marquis' Who's Who in American Women for the past 3 years.
